Riot Games is updating the League’s behavioral system so that you and your teammates can see your restrictions on the lobby screen
League of Legends is well-known for having very toxic communities and players. And dealing with these sorts of players on a regular basis is not only frustrating but also stressful. As such, Riot Games has been working day and night to prevent these kinds of players.
Riot Games has implemented many anti-toxicity measures. From implementing an honor system that motivated players to be more positive to presenting a brand-new Three Honors skin line.
Now, Riot has modified League’s behavioral system once again because of the growing toxicity.
Behavioral Systems changes in Patch 12.17
“Over the last 8 months since we released our new feeding detection model, we have gained the confidence that allows us to make significant adjustments to what we detect as intentional feeding. We expect an increase in detections and punishments of over 2x.”
According to the recent Patch 12.17 changes, Riot Games finally has enough confidence to make huge changes to the Behavioral Systems.
Following the implementation of these changes in Patch 12.17, chat limitations will be shown on the accused’s lobby screen; their party member will also be able to view the restriction.
Furthermore, honor limits placed to that player’s account will be displayed on their profile page as a lock symbol with a tooltip. Here is the penalty for feeding on purpose in a League of Legends match:
- 1st transgression: 14-day ban
- 2nd transgression: permanent ban
It appears that Riot is going hard at this time, but this being an effective system remains unknown.
