In a Reddit post, Riot provided an update on the Quick Play mode release date.
Riot indicated three months ago that they will be implementing adjustments to League of Legends. While they’re adding a new update with TFT Double Up, they’re also replacing the least popular queue with a new one called Quick Play.
Quick Play is a new League of Legends queue that will be comparable to a previous mode called Team Builder. Riot removed Team Builder in 2016 owing to challenges with managing various lines for different game modes.
However, there hasn’t been much news since the announcement of Quick Play until recently.
Riot gives updates on Quick Play Mode
According to Riot Auberaun on Reddit, the mode was planned to be live halfway through the year, but when the decision was made to introduce Emerald Tier, the project was placed on hold until the new tier was introduced to ranked.
“We were hoping to get Quick Play out before the midyear patch but weren’t quite able to finish before we had to pivot to Emerald and other ranked Split 2 stuff, so we’ll be picking it back up shortly and plan to get it out later this year.”
As a result, Riot will restart development and release it later in 2023. This is a terrific addition, as Normals has been lacking for quite some time. The overall gaming experience is poor for players, and on many servers, Draft Mode is preferred to Normals.
As a result, using Quick Play to simplify matchmaking and provide a better experience for players is a fantastic goal.
Understanding that Riot will deliver it is fantastic news. Hopefully, we will receive it sooner rather than later, and it will make life easier for players in League of Legends.
