With the introduction of Mythic Essence in League of Legends Season 12, Riot Games completely redefined how players access Prestige, Hextech, and Mythic skins. Now, as we approach Season 2025, the Mythic Shop is getting another major overhaul, bringing in fresh features and new content alongside a revamped rotation system.
The Sanctum: A New Gacha System
Starting with Patch 14.24, Riot is integrating The Sanctum, a gacha system designed to bring more exclusive and exciting content to the Mythic Shop. Riot’s goal is to make the Mythic Shop a hub for premium cosmetics that feel truly special for players.
With this update, blue essence, orange essence, and shards will no longer be available in the Mythic Shop. In their place, Riot is introducing new items like Nexus Finishers, further diversifying the rewards for Mythic Essence spenders.
How the Mythic Shop Works
Each month, the rotation includes:
- 2 Prestige skins
- 2 older Hextech skins (rotating every three months)
- 1 new Mythic skin (rotating every three months)
Pricing Structure
The cost of skins in the Shop scales with how many times they’ve been unvaulted:
- Prestige Skins:
- First unvault: 125 ME
- Second unvault: 150 ME
- Third and subsequent unvaults: 200 ME
- Hextech Skins:
- First unvault: 100 ME
- Consecutive unvaults: 125 ME

When Will the Mythic Shop Rotate Next?
The next Mythic Shop rotation is expected to land with the launch of Season 2025, either in Patch 25.S1.1 or 25.S1.2, scheduled for January. As always, the Mythic Shop will refresh monthly, cycling in two new Prestige skins. Additionally, the Hextech and Mythic skins will follow their three-month rotation schedule.
