A tower AFK during Fnatic vs EDG Worlds 2022

Many viewers of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship have observed a few issues appear on game days. Additionally, yesterday’s match between Fnatic and Edward Gaming revealed a new tower bug that might require some attention from Riot Games, according to popular League content maker Vandiril.

Hylissang initiated the engagement by attacking Viper below the turret during an early-game dive from Fnatic and utilized his Ignite summoner spell on the adversary AD carry. The auto-targeting of the turret was triggered as a result, and the European support was rapidly eliminated. However, it was a good setup for his teammates to finish off the remaining kills.

However, upon additional examination, it was discovered that none of the other Fnatic players ever had the turret’s auto-targeting active again. As an illustration, Razork, the team’s jungler, shocked Viper into the wall and won the match, but he never earned tower aggro during that time. Fnatic’s jungler avoided harm despite an uncommon interaction that may have proved fatal for the team.

Vandiril thinks that the bug happens when a player kills themselves after igniting an enemy champion while they are under a tower. After that, anyone who assaults the ignited champions won’t receive tower aggro, giving them free rein to take them out and flee without fear of being killed.

By timing their attacks so that the support ignites a target and dies first before the rest of their teammates can pile on the free damage, teams could take advantage of this interplay for simple tower dives. Vandiril added that the flaw is easily reproducible and has been there in the game since July 2021 but has not yet been fixed by Riot.
