The 2023 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational is just a few months away, but Riot Games is already making significant changes to the Mythic item system for ADCs.
Riot Axes said today in a developer blog post that the team is ready to test a new version of the Mythic system in which items morph from situational build answers into “high-power, high-satisfaction, capstones”.
So, Riot confirmed in a recent dev blog that they would be completely reworking itemization in the upcoming mid-season update.
“We’re specifically looking at changing our philosophy on Mythic items for many champs and are no longer holding Mythics to the original 75 percent purchase rate scrutiny,” – Riot Axes.
To begin, Riot Games will alter its mythic item philosophy. Initially, they assessed these commodities based on their purchase rate. However, they recognised that it was not the most important value. As a result, they are now considering all things based on great player happiness.

It should be mentioned that practically all of the items will be altered in some way. It might range from modest stat changes to major overhauls. Items relegated from mythic will receive significant nerfs, but legendary items elevated to mythic will receive significant boosts, including a new passive.
Statikk Shiv, an iconic marksman ADC item, will also be returning to Summoner’s Rift. When Statikk Shiv returns, the item will have a modified stat profile and will not have the same impact as in previous versions.
Riot also revealed that if this upgrade falls short of expectations, they are open to deleting the category entirely and restoring it to way it was in season 10. Finally, Riot is prepared to have ADCs play with at least one Mythic item, and the developers fully expect multiple AD carry champions to have only one optimal Mythic.
Riot stated that the update will be released after MSI 2023. However, a mid-season update is usually released on the 10th or 11th patch of the year. This year, it might be patch 13.10 or 13.11, which will be released on May 17, 2023 and June 1, 2023.
