Little teased of Arcane 2 finale
In a recent interview with Dexerto, Arcane creators Alex Yee and Christian Linke shared insights on the highly anticipated Season 2 finale, describing it as “meaty” and the longest episode in the League of Legends series to date.
The first season of Arcane set an incredibly high standard, earning praise as one of the finest video game adaptations and an outstanding achievement in animation. However, with the news that Season 2 will also be the show’s last, fans have mixed feelings.
The creators, however, feel this decision allows them to focus on quality and sets the stage for exploring new League of Legends stories in the future.
Until then, fans can look forward to 9 new Arcane episodes, with the first three arriving on Netflix on November 9, and the finale expected on November 23. Though Yee and Linke kept the specifics of the finale under wraps, they hinted that it will be monumental in both size and impact.
According to Linke, the finale is a significant feat, with the first cut from animation studio Fortiche running over an hour. “Everyone was scared sh*tless about the last episode because it’s such a behemoth,” Linke admitted, revealing that the team had to carefully refine it from this initial version.
Yee added that the finale is designed to honor everything the team has built and is a tribute to the loyal fans. He highlighted the dedication of the crew, who put in extraordinary effort to ensure they could deliver on their ambitious vision.
“It’s long in animation terms, so it’s not going to be double the length of an episode, but it’s definitely longer than any of the others, for sure,”
As for the exact runtime, the Arcane creators couldn’t provide a specific length but assured viewers that it would be “long as sh*t” and significantly longer than previous episodes.
