A player suddenly found these weird interactions with manaless champions in a random experiment…
In LoL, Archangel’s Staff/Seraph’s Embrace is always considered the core item for AP champions specializing in spamming skills, but not all of them can use this item. With 500 Mana in its raw stats, and increasing AP via the amount of bonus Mana, only the ones using it can make use of this item.
Nevertheless, a player named “IngusRogeth” was curious so that he decided to use this item on champions that do not use mana but other consuming resources (Rengar – Ferocity, Sett – Grit,…). According to the game’s theory, this item’s Mana and 3% of AP scaling on bonus Mana are absolutely useless on manaless champions.
However, when he purchased Archangel’s Staff on them, he figured out an exciting thing all of a sudden: Archangel’s Staff/Seraph’s Embrace still increased the limit of their resource bar!
Experimenting on Rengar, he discovered that Archangel’s Staff/Seraph’s Embrace increased the limit of his Ferocity from 4 to 5. And Kled was the same when his amount of Courage was also risen.
All of his research helped him to conclude that the interaction between Rengar and this item was the most fascinating one, as it would certainly lead to a bug. The problem was the game system had been coded that “Rengar’s maximum Ferocity is 4”. As a result, Rengar would be able to use his skills without CD until his Ferocity reached 5.
Rengar seemed to be the only manaless champion that could use this item usefully. Kled was a completely opposite one as this item actually hit him severely, as it increased the amount of Courage, which meant the required time for Skaarl to get back would be a bit longer.
Another experiment was carried out on Shyvana, Tryndamere, and Renekton – the champions using Fury. About these champion, the amount of Fury went up from 100 to 126. It actually went nowhere as your collecting time would be longer.
This player also warned that this interaction looked interesting, but its practicability was zero. Firstly, these champion will waste its mana and passive AP, which cannot be compensated by 26 Fury. Secondly, even AP champions are not able to make use of this item, as they can only benefit from its raw AP. AP Tryndamere has disappeared for a long time, so think carefully before using it.
