League of Legends: Attacking enemies under their turret without receiving damage – is it possible?

At first sight, a lot of players will definitely think that there was a turret bug in this outstanding moment of iBoy.

Yesterday, in LPL Summer Split 2021, the Rare Atom team with impressive players such as iBoy, FoFo, and Leyan, had an essential win against Bilibili Gaming. This helps them to reach the third place with 8W-4L and they are coming close to Funplus Phoenix.

The spotlight in the victory of Rare Atom yesterday was an unbelievable turret dive in the first game of the duo of iBoy and Hang at their level 2. Specifically, they had a big wave pushing into the enemy turret, and then, Vayne of iBoy continuingly attacked Braum but received no hits from the turret!

As a result, the bot laners of RA had the first blood without sacrificing anyone. Spectating this moment, the two commentators were so impressed that after the match had ended, Dan Harrison posted on his Twitter:

First, we have to make clear that the turret did not have any bugs at that moment. iBoy accurately timed the aggro-attack progress of the turret. If you still have no idea of this mechanism, take a look at the video below (actually the minions’ one, but they are theoretically the same anyway). Particularly, this guy used the time when the turret was attacking a minion to hit and get out of its range right then. He just repeated this and got that easy takedown.

Obviously, to apply this trick to your games, you have to be extremely careful to catch the turret mechanism up. Furthermore, you also have to move skillfully to avoid the turret’s aggro (just like the minions’ one). This requires players to practice a lot as a small mistake will bring your game away.
