After today’s hotfix Riot would have ended tanks’ reign of terror.
Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, League gameplay design director, outlined several nerfs deployed that were intended to balance the items built from Bami’s Cinder.
Bami’s Cinder, Sunfire Aegis, Frostfire Gauntlet, and Turbo Chemtank all have their DPS burn reduced significantly. Also, the item’s burning damage to monsters and minions is taking a hit. Those adjustments should make it more difficult to kill Baron and Drakes and make it a little more difficult to clear jungle camps.
Tanks are certainly in a really great spot right now as they deal as much damage as they can. In yesterday’s funny Reddit clip, five players using Bami’s Cinder items were able to kill Baron without hitting it because of the Immolate aura.
Besides, another clip shows a team of tanks taking down their enemies by standing just near to them. Reduced burn damage is expected to curb champions such as Amumu, Rammus, and Maokai, who benefit greatly from Bami items.
Scruffy also clarified that the mini-patch includes bug fixes for the Wardstone exploit. The bug allowed players to manipulate the shop by using Wardstone and Control Wards for free money.
