Hilariously, the Rift Herald now can use Ekko’s R!
Last night, two “giants” of LEC: G2 Esports and Fnatic, met each other in week 3 of LEC Spring Split 2021. After 28 minutes, Fnatic finally found their fourth win, but the spotlight of the whole match is the 30-minute delay! When the match had finished, Riot Max – a member of the LEC Organizing Committee, revealed that the reason for that pause is the appearance of a huge bug.
Another member of the LEC Organizing Committee – Riot Triaged, also said that they actually did not see the mentioned bug on live stream. To explain this, they have to delay for 5-10 minutes compared to the real-time of the match in order to ensure that the match is completely fair.
About the audiences, when the Chronobreak took place, they were still watching the match which time had been delayed on live. Riot Games only knew about the bug when the referee sent the emergency announcement to the Organizing Committee to stop the match and fix that bug
So exactly, what is Rift Herald’s Chronobreak? This bug can be simply understood that when the Rift Herald attacks a turret, it will magically use Ekko’s R: it will turn back to the former status, except from the position, for sure. As a result, the Rift Herald will not deal any damage to the turret as well as lost any HP.
The guy who was angry most about the match was probably Jankos as his position had to be revealed to the enemy so as to summon the Rift Herald but it unfortunately went nowhere because of that bug. Even when the match was started again before the bug happened, G2 Esports still received some disadvantages due to the information leak.
This was definitely not the first bug that appeared in pro leagues of League of Legends this year. Just talk about LPL, there have been 2 bugs detected, including the proc bug of Rapid Firecannon – The Collector and another one of Camille – Galio. Maybe it’s time for Riot to check out all of their champions, objects and items to make sure that no bugs will affect the game in the future.
