Coven Syndra receives changes following LoL community’s backlash

Riot Games has once again found itself embroiled in a controversial situation, this time centering on the recently unveiled Coven Syndra skin.

This marks the second skin-related controversy in League of Legends within just a couple of months, with the first being the highly criticized Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin skin announced in August. The Jhin skin drew widespread backlash due to its steep price of $200, especially considering that it essentially amounted to a chroma with minimal changes to VFX and SFX. Riot Games faced severe community backlash as a result.

Riot Games changed Coven Syndra

Now, in a surprising turn of events, Riot has managed to stir up another one. The spotlight was on the 2023 Coven skin line, which introduced seven brand-new skins, including the highly anticipated Coven Syndra.

Given Syndra’s thematic compatibility with the Coven skin line, many players had high hopes for the skin. However, these hopes were dashed when Nami was chosen to receive the Legendary Skin instead of Syndra. What compounded the disappointment was that a significant portion of the player base expressed dissatisfaction with almost every aspect of the Coven Syndra skin.

In response to the outcry, Riot made the decision to delay the release of Coven Syndra so that they could address these concerns. Consequently, Riot has recently shared the adjustments they are making to Coven Syndra. These adjustments are designed to improve the skin and make it more appealing to players, aiming to rectify the shortcomings that led to the initial backlash.

These alterations are expected to positively impact the overall perception of the Coven Syndra skin. They have been eagerly anticipated by players who were initially disappointed by the skin’s debut. Coven Syndra, with these new adjustments in place, is now scheduled to hit the live servers with the release of Patch 13.21, which is slated for Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
