Do we need League of Legends 2? League community split in half

League of Legends is getting on in years, and the community is split on whether or not Riot should make League of Legends 2

CS:GO is one of the few esports titles that can compete with League of Legends, since both are heavyweights in the game industry.

However, both games are already a decade old, putting them at risk of ageing and slipping behind newer releases. Valve made to produce Counter-Strike 2, a “sequel” with the main purpose of improving the game that CS:GO was and adding a few modest but significant tweaks to the concept.

Counter-Strike 2’s positive response and vastly better visuals have many in the League community questioning if LoL might benefit from a complete rebuild like CS.

Counter-Strike 2 has left the League of Legends community craving a complete revamp

Many players appear to think that League might use a Counter-Strike 2 refresh, but the question is if a League of Legends 2 will ever be released.

While the visual component of League isn’t nearly as crucial as it is in CS 2, the game may benefit from a new client and a substantial overhaul of its code, according to the original Reddit post that prompted this discussion.

Some players stated that they were pleased with the updates League has had throughout the years, but that they would welcome another to bring the client up to speed.

Others, on the other hand, believe that upgrading League of Legends is a near-impossible process. Though players have recently been critical of the title’s devs, this is a topic on which many were eager to support Riot.

Others pointed out that Valve makes a lot of money outside of their games and that Counter-Strike is updated considerably less frequently than League, despite the fact that the MOBA gets updates every other week. It would be a tremendous job to release a League of Legends 2 with every aspect in it, including every champion, item, and feature.

Though many people would like to see a better version of their favourite game, the widespread assumption is that Riot will never have the time or money to actually release League of Legends 2. Nonetheless, the future is unpredictable, and we will never know Riot’s act.
