Doublelift: League of Legends is harder to play than Dota 2

“There is no chance that Dota has a higher skill ceiling than League of Legends,” the greatest player in the history of the North American League of Legends said on his Stream.

Over the past ten years, League of Legends and Dota 2 have always been two of the most famous MOBA games in the world. These two games are constantly competing in the market to prove which is the best game in the world

Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, a veteran North American League player, said that Riot Games’ League of Legends is more difficult and requires more player skills than its rival: Valve’s Dota 2.

“I would say Dota has more to learn than League of Legends when it comes to the variety of builds, hero pools, and map interactions,” Doublelift said during a private streaming session. “But in terms of skills, no – no chance at all proves that Dota requires a higher skill than League of Legends.”

The 26-year-old player who is the mainstay of Team Liquid mentioned a few reasons such as unusual hero rotation speed, integrated latency, lack of skillshots, … Doublelift also said Dota 2 There are so many stun and target skills. And while Valve’s Dota 2 has more buttons, Dota 2 doesn’t require as much skill as Riot Games’ League of Legends.

However, Doublelift says Dota 2 requires different skills. League of Legends is one of the MOBA games that delve into player skills most due to a large number of skill-oriented and too many champions capable of running and jumping.

The most difficult champion in League of Legends history, Aphelios, also has complex gameplay with up to five weapons accompanied by a range of unique skills. This is considered a big challenge for all new players to access to League of Legends.

In the end, Doublelift shared that he never really wanted to follow the professional path in Dota 2 despite thinking that he was a good player when he had “swept all the pubs (games) he played.”

Instead, the legendary player of League of Legends is aiming to win the LCS – the number one tournament in North America – for the eighth time in his career this year.

Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng hails from Mission Viejo, California. Peng first discovered his love for video games through classic Nintendo 64 titles Star Fox and Golden Eye. After his brother got a computer, Peng frequently used it to play Diablo 1 and StarCraft. Since his brother would buy a new computer every few years, Peng soon came to own his own hand-me-down desktop. This allowed him to spend more time playing computer games such as DotA, WoW, and HoN with his brother and friends. Eventually, they all left these games behind and moved to LoL.

Doublelift started playing League of Legends professionally from its first season in 2011 after having had years of experience with many popular MOBA titles – including DotA All-Star and Heroes of Newerth (HoN).

The player born in 1993 has entered the LCS history as the owner of many championships to the present.

Despite being considered the greatest AD carry in the LCS with many shocking statements, Doublelift is still considered useless because he has never surpassed the World Championship Group stage after seven times.

The best international performance that Doublelift has achieved after nine seasons of professional competition is present at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) Final – where he and Liquid lost to G2 Esports with a score of 0-3 in May.
