New Dragon-themed Tower update made players urge Riot for adjustments

Currently, League of Legends players are advocating for Riot Games developers to seriously consider a fan-generated dragon concept that could potentially revolutionize the towers on Summoner’s Rift.

Ever since Riot Games introduced Elemental dragons onto the Rift back in 2022, the League community has been buzzing with excitement. This addition not only injected a fresh dose of variety into the long-standing MOBA’s gameplay but also significantly altered the terrain of the map itself.

Now, players are envisioning even further enhancements, with the emergence of a new proposal titled the “Dragon Map Tower Update,” which was shared by a fan on Reddit on April 14th.

New Dragon Tower concept

This proposed update proposes that Elemental dragons could bestow unique effects upon towers, effectively transforming the landscape of Summoner’s Rift. This innovation could potentially introduce a dynamic aspect to the Rift, particularly when the third drake objective materializes.

The League community eagerly embraced this idea, with players swiftly concocting additional modifications. For instance, one player suggested that the Infernal Drake could imbue towers with area-of-effect attacks, potentially dissuading players from attempting risky dive under the protection of towers.

Meanwhile, others speculated that the Mountain Drake might grant towers resistance or even a shield mechanism when they are at full health, thereby increasing their durability.

Further suggestions included the Ocean Drake augmenting towers with accelerated health regeneration, and the Cloud Drake extending the range of towers while providing intermittent speed boosts.

At present, towers possess formidable armor and magic resistance in the early stages of the game, making them challenging to demolish without the aid of buffs like Rift Herald or Voidgrubs. However, as matches progress, their resilience drops, resulting in less impact on gameplay dynamics.

Despite the enthusiasm from the player base, the League of Legends developers have yet to issue a response to these compelling suggestions.
