Elon Musk shares his reasons for not playing League of Legends

Elon Musk Shares Why He Avoids League of Legends

Elon Musk, known for his ventures in technology and gaming, recently revealed why he has steered clear of League of Legends, despite his love for video games.

While Musk is celebrated as a visionary entrepreneur, he’s also a passionate gamer. Lately, he’s been making waves in Diablo 4, even ranking among the top players globally. On his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk frequently shares gaming insights, from the titles he’s currently enjoying to his thoughts on the industry.

However, one title remains off-limits for the Tesla CEO: League of Legends. In a recent clip posted on X, Musk explained his surprising reason for avoiding the game.

“It Would Damage the Space Program”

During a lighthearted Q&A with Kai Trump, granddaughter of Donald Trump, Elon Musk was asked about his gaming history. After confirming that he has played classics like Quake and other FPS games, another voice off-camera asked if he was into League of Legends.

Musk laughed before replying, “If I started playing League, it would damage the space program.”

While Elon Musk’s comment was clearly tongue-in-cheek, it highlights how aware he is of the game’s infamous addictiveness. Fans resonated with his word, applauding his decision to avoid getting “sucked in.”

“Elon knows the real cost of getting hooked on League. It might be too risky even for a rocket scientist,”

As one of the most popular multiplayer games in the world, League of Legends continues to capture players’ hearts with its competitive gameplay and immersive lore.

The franchise has even reached new heights with the animated series Arcane, whose second season shattered viewership records and earned multiple Emmy nominations.

While Musk might admire League from a distance, his decision to stay away underscores just how captivating—and time-consuming—the game can be. After all, with rockets to launch and empires to run, even Musk can’t afford to risk the pull of Summoner’s Rift.
