As a result of alleged cheating in a match against CLG Red, Riot Games has released a new competition judgment removing team EQ Cerise from the VCT Game Changers.
With their Valorant event series, Game Changers, Riot Games is advancing women’s esports further.
The Game Changers circuit will even host its first live Championship LAN tournament in November. The competition between the top female and non-binary professional Valor players will take place in Berlin, Germany.
However, Riot completely disqualified team EQ Cerise from a recent Game Changers qualifier after officials noticed the use of third-party software.
Disqualify EQ Cerise
Riot revealed on Twitter that they had detected a player on EQ using an illegal third-party tool after a lower-bracket qualification match between EQ Cerise and CLG Red, which EQ won 2-1.
As a result, the tournament’s administrators declared that CLG Red would proceed in the competition while EQ was eliminated from Game Changers.
EQ Cerise responds
IGL ‘Amber’ for EQ responded on Twitter, refuting the claims made against her group.
The team’s IGL eventually posted a longer tweet explaining in more detail why all of the games and audio communications had to be recorded in accordance with VCT regulations.
All clips will be given to Riot for additional analysis, according to the IGL. In addition, EQ will carry out its own investigation and inspect the accused’s computer for anything that might have triggered the anti-cheat.
