Event Passes Grinding has left LoL players demanding change immediately

After a half-decade of use, event passes have become a fixture in League of Legends event. Many adjustments have been implemented throughout this period to make grinding less time demanding.

However, with the recent increase to include two Prestige skins every event, players are dissatisfied with the current situation of event passes.

A quick look back in time reveals that the first-ever event pass was introduced for the 2018 World Championship event. The biggest attraction of the event pass at the time was K/DA Kai’Sa, the first Prestige skin in League of Legends. Yet, it worth a whopping 2500 Event Token.

LoL players want improvement to Event Pass

The only major drawback was that token earning rates were low that most players went to buy prizes to gain much-needed extra tokens. As a result, the skin was distributed to a relatively tiny number of players.

Riot later introduced the Mythic Essence shop to relaunch prior Prestige skins, with original owners receiving a special edition for their efforts.

Additional rewards are frequently out of reach after that. Riot now gives two Prestige skins every event, and in order to redeem both without purchasing more tokens, you must play around ten games per day. This means you’ll have to choose between the two skins – or none if you want the 100 Mythic Essence instead.

The last time Riot addressed event token drop rates was in early 2022. The addition of two Prestige skins for each event occurred considerably later.

This has caused players to doubt the existing token drop rate and has prompted them to want improvements to the event pass, which allows them to acquire more items.

However, it is realistic to assume that the current 1650RP would rise if a large number of pass holders could easily claim two Prestige skins every event.
