Faker spent all his donations from fans and more than 62.000USD on charity activities

The story of T1 Faker‘s good heart was recalled by his grandmother in the newly released book.

In June, Faker’s grandmother released a book titled “페이커 이상혁의 마음을 담아서” (Traditional translation: Lee Sang-Hyeok’s loving heart), with the content of the book recalls the whole process of growing up and the kind heart of her beloved grandson – as now is one of the most famous players in the entire history of League of Legends – T1 Faker.

This book is for internal circulation only and is given to friends, relatives, as well as some fans. However, fans still found a way to own the book and pass it on.

The narrative of this player’s kind heart was disclosed by a reader as one of the most notable contents in his grandmother’s book. Faker’s grandma revealed that all of the money donated to this player by fans on the stream over the years is going to charity.

He also spent around 70 million won (approximately 62.000 USD) throughout the time from March 2020 to the present to contribute to charity and illness prevention. In it, there is a sum of ten million won that Faker contributed to the Church and neighbors in need due to the pandemic.

The neighbors referenced here appear to be people who live with his family at the old boarding home, a cheap living neighborhood on the outskirts of Seoul. This money was not donated to a charity and, of course, belongs to him personally, thus it was never mentioned in the press.

The fact that Lee Sang-Hyeok also supports his neighbors is a story that his grandma wants to share with everyone in order to convey the love and warmth that this player provides. Faker is well-known as an Esports player and one of Korea’s “four prides of the century.” To his grandma, though, he will always be a sweet and caring kid.
