Faker’s Youtube Channel Reached 1 Million Subscribers

Apparently, Faker is the first professional gamer to receive Youtube’s Gold Play Button.

Youtube has long been the largest video platform in the world, and its development and expansion helped in pushing Esports to a new height. League of Legends also benefits from this, as Riot Games heavily invested their media appearance on this video sharing site. From champion spotlights to virtual music bands, Youtube brought League of Legends hundred millions of players ever since 2009.

Even Riot themselves embraced the meme

Riot isn’t the sole promoter of League of Legends though. The game itself has spawned numerous Twitch streamers and Youtubers as well. Among them, Faker is the most successful League Youtube as he becomes the first pro player to reach one million subscribers on his Youtube channel, which mostly uploads his stream highlights and full gameplay commentaries.

Faker becomes the first pro player in the realm of Esports to receive 1 million subscribers

Faker’s first upload was in 2017, and it took him three years to reach this milestone. There are also many other renowned pro players who use Youtube as the platform to promote themselves, such as Doublelift, Bjergsen, Jankos,…though they are nowhere near Faker’s magnitude in term of popularity.

Even the 2nd most subscribed Youtube channel is still far from Faker in term of subscription
Dopa’s channel only has half the number Faker has

Perhaps what the audience waiting for is the video of Faker “unboxing” the YouTube Gold Play Button, either pre-recorded or on stream. It’s unknown whether he can reach the next milestone of ten million subscribers and receive the YouTube Diamond Creator Award.
