Riot Games has uploaded the long-awaited League of Legends World Championship 2022 anthem, “STAR WALKIN’,” featuring Lil Nas X, on September 22.
Sadly, while being one of the most anticipated Worlds anthems to date, the song fell short of portraying the unwavering mood of the iconic tournament.
Although the song allows Lil Nas X to shine while also straying from the typical “empowerment vibe” that Riot so frequently employs, it appears that this year’s Worlds lacks anticipation, in part due to the Worlds Anthem, which was poorly welcomed by fans.
Most people thought the song was more about Lil’ Nas X than LoL, and several were disappointed that Riot Games didn’t create a hype-worthy visual to accompany it.
The rapper also responded on Twitter, arguing that people who don’t enjoy the song are to blame and that it is impossible to please all of the fans.

Not long later, Silvxs shared a trailer for the Worlds 2022 tournament that they created themselves, with no big production budgets or stars singing.
The reactions were the contrary; almost everyone liked the trailer, despite the lack of a tune, which was replaced by words from players, coaches, and casters.
While STAR WALKIN’ is full of excitement and allows Lil Nas X to shine throughout the video, the anthem did not connect with fans, with the video and song receiving largely negative reviews from the majority of the community.
It’s reasonable to assume that LoL fans aren’t impossible to get excited about, but the video and song both fell short this time.
