Fnatic head coach Yamato is concerned that more teams will leave LEC and LCS

The competitive scene in League of Legends LCS and LEC is about to shift dramatically

The departure of Misfits Gaming from League of Legends’ LEC is one of the biggest stories in the community nowadays. The organization sold its LEC place to Team Heretics and will no longer participate in the competition beginning in 2023.

This announcement surprised the whole community because Misfits Gaming was a very competitive organization. Fans, however, should brace themselves because Misfits Gaming will not be the first company to do so.

Fnatic head coach YamatoCannon recently commented on Twitter on behalf of the recent news of Misfits leaving the LoL competitive scene:

This raises the issue of what is going on in the western League of Legends environment that is causing corporations to make such extreme moves.

Misfits Gaming selling its LEC spot to Team Heretics was huge news for many League of Legends fans across the world. Other veterans, like Yamato, believe that a lot will shift in the game’s competitive landscape once the 2022 off-season begins.

It is no accident that multiple League of Legends professionals are now stepping out and making remarks like these immediately after the exit of Misfits was revealed.

Recently, TSM was also reported to consider leaving LCS for LEC, leaving the community speechless. The organization, on the other hand, hasn’t confirmed or responded to the rumor.

Only a handful, like as Cloud9, G2 Esports, 100 Thieves, and a few more, are financially solid. To thrive, most esports teams rely significantly on sponsorships, retail sales, streaming content, and a large audience.

As a result, unless the team succeeds, the organization will be obliged to sell its position to someone else. It is probable that numerous bottom-tier League of Legends teams are struggling financially, which is why selling may be on the horizon in the competitive scene.
