Gareth Bale founded esports: Does he care about League of Legends?

Ellevens Esports is an elite gaming organisation co-owned by Real Madrid and Wales football star Gareth Bale. Bale’s team consists of some of the finest gamers in competitive FIFA, which will be joined by some of the most exciting personalities across YouTube and Twitch.

“On the pitch, the goal is always to win. With Ellevens Esports, that winning attitude is just as important. There are similarities between football and esports in that it takes real dedication and sacrifice to reach the top of your game.

I am looking to recruit a team of world-class players for Ellevens across a variety of games. Unearthing new talent is an exciting part of the process and it’s been really exciting to be involved in selecting our line-up of players so far!”

In the beginning, Bale’s organization would only operate the FIFA 20 team when it signed contracts with three players Pedro Resende, Ethan Higgins and Tyler Philipps. They will make their debut in the professional arena at the FIFA eClub World Cup (FECWC) 2020 – a tournament worth $ 100,000, bringing together 24 teams and kicking off on February 7 in Milan, Italy.

Bale’s organization is not just investing in FIFA 20. In addition, Ellevens Esports is also interested in Fortnite: Battle Royale, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League.

Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the most popular figure in the global Fortnite community, inspired Bale to create the esports organization. “I was interested in esports starting about two years before watching the Ninja stream Fortnite,” said the soccer player born in 1989.

“And as a matter of course, I watch FIFA and the FIFA Global Series. The competitive environment is very attractive, so I decided I wanted to give gamers serious access to esports and compete for a professional organization at the highest level. ”

Bale has joined the list of well-known traditional athletes investing in esports – like Michael Jordan, Odell Beckham Jr, and most recently Antoine Griezmann, the player playing for FC Barcelona (Spain).

However, this is not the esports organization of a 30-year-old player. Ellevens Esports is co-owned by 38 Entertainment Group, founded by Larry Cohen (also a former soccer player) and Jonathan Kark (an investor and entrepreneur).
