Heimerdinger can still be 4-star in TFT Set 9.5 – Lead TFT dev revealed and explained how

Lead TFT dev, Riot Mortdog, has revealed how you can still 4-star Heimerdinger in the new Set 9.5: Horizonbound

Teamfight Tactics, Riot’s famous auto chess battler, has recently reached the mid-set for Runeterra Reforged. Set 9’s mid-set update reworks some items and introduces new traits and units while deleting some of the previous ones.

Yordle was one of Set 9’s trait, concentrating solely on rerolling units to increase their power. If players manage to three-star three of their units, their strongest Yordle will become a four-star unit, buffing its power and providing a bonus to its ability.

Riot Mortdog revealed how you can 4-star Heimerdinger in TFT Set 9.5

The option to create a 4-star unit was assumed to be fully eliminated from the game when it was removed with Set 9.5. Fortunately, the TFT creators took the initiative to provide a fun easter egg.

4-star Heimerdinger would launch a barrage of electric grenades, effectively one-shotting the whole opponent board. Despite the trait’s removal, players may still obtain a 4-star Heimerdinger in Set 9.5.

Many players wondered if they may still get the rare 4-star Heimerdinger in Set 9.5. Without a defined set of criteria, players began testing several ways but they failed eventually.

Mortdog, TFT lead designer, jumped into action, explaining to players the prerequisites required for a 4-star Heimerdinger. Players must 3-star both Poppy and Heimerdinger, which means they must actively seek out both units if they want to see the 4-star inventor again.

This is an extremely tough achievement, considering Poppy costs 1 gold and Heimerdinger costs 5 gold. If you are successful, you will be awarded with an extraordinarily rare easter egg that will have the rest of the lobby clapping.
