Jax’s highly anticipated ASU has been officially unveiled in League of Legends, bringing a fresh appearance and numerous new voice lines to the iconic Grandmaster at Arms.
Despite wielding the same weapon, Jax’s new look and expanded dialogue are part of a comprehensive art and sustainability update.
As one of the earliest champions introduced in 2009, Jax was originally slated for a complete Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU). However, due to the extensive nature of the overhaul, Riot decided to release it in two stages.
The first phase involved a mini-rework, while the visual aspect was delayed but teased with sneak peeks, generating significant excitement among fans.
Jax Updated Splash Arts and Skins
Riot has now fully showcased Jax’s new visual, unveiling the updated splash art for both his base model and alternative skins. While the base model retains its original essence, it receives enhancements that make it appear more contemporary, akin to recently released champions.
The new base splash art retains Jax’s iconic elements, including his purple cape, six-eyed mask, and ignited staff for combat. However, the updated version features a leaner physique with a sleeveless top, deviating from the original long-sleeved hooded. The brazier now appears more menacing with added spikes.
Additionally, the quality of the skins has been notably improved compared to their previous versions.

Jax Voice Update
In addition to the visual enhancements, Jax is set to receive an extensive set of voice lines. These lines include interactions with champions from the game’s lore and specific regions, as well as a heartwarming message to Joe, a League fan battling cancer.
The Jax visual update is slated for release in patch 13.20, scheduled for October 11, 2023.
