In League of Legends preseason 2023, jungle pets were introduced to the game. They provide players with both offensive and defensive options throughout the game.

Mossstomper is the go-to tank pet since it grants players a shield and 20% tenacity if they grow this companion. The protection they obtain from Mosstomper lasts endlessly until the player is damaged by opponents. It also grants players slow resistance, which is a very useful tool in negating any negative spells.
Finally, the Mosstomper provides 30% less damage to monsters while the jungler is within 1300 units of at least two allies. As a result, it is evident that this pet is best suited for players who wish to be the front-line.
However, as stated in the introduction, merely acquiring the Mosstomper would not turn the champion into a tank. Players must grow the companion with treats to ensure that it performs properly.
Treats may be gained by slaying huge monsters or by taking down champions. In fact, until their companion has reached its full form, players will save one more reward every 60 minutes.
When the final evolution is completed, players’ smite damage will skyrocket. Aside from that, the pet will perform significantly better in fight against opposing champions.
Finally, it will regenerate mana and health for the player. In summary, the jungle pet will assist the jungler as long as the player maintains it. In reality, while Mosstomper is generally intended to be a tank partner, it may also be employed by offensive junglers, like Evelynn for example.
The amount of diversity and freedom that these companions allow will undoubtedly revolutionize League of Legends for the better.
