EG.Prodigies ADC Kaori will be starting for EG at Worlds while Danny takes a break to cater for his mental health. Such a shame for the 18-year-old prodigy after helping EG win the Spring Split and qualifying for Worlds itself.
EG’s Worlds 2022 starting line-up:
- Jeong ‘Impact‘ Eon-young (Top laner)
- Kacper ‘Inspired‘ Sloma (Jungle)
- Joseph Joon ‘jojopyun‘ Pyun (Mid laner)

- Philippe ‘Vulcan‘ Laflammer (Support)

Kyle ‘Danny’ Sakamaki was promoted from EG.Prodigies roster a year ago and helped put EG into the spotlight as one of the best in LCS
Prior to Danny’s arrival and the current iteration of EG, the team has struggled to make a mark on the LCS despite being one of the giants of NA esports. Along with the arrival of superstar midlaner Joseph Joon ‘jojopyun’ Pyun and jungler Kacper ‘Inspired’ Sloma, Danny carried the squad to a 1st place finish in LCS Spring 2022, 3-4th at MSI and a 1st place in LCS Summer groups.
EG also qualified for the first time as an org to Worlds, notably making Golden Guardians the only LCS org to not ever have represented NA at Worlds in no small parts thanks to Danny’s contribution.
However, the pressure of rough competition, his underperformance and high expectations from fans as well as himself has gotten to the young ADC. Danny was forced to bow out at the start of the month prior to the LCS Finals to focus on recovering. EG ended up placing 3rd in the Summer Split.
There were speculations on whether Danny will be able to attend the year’s biggest event as a result, but now it has become apparent that he will not be back in shape in time for Worlds. Nevertheless, we wish Danny a speedy recovery and hope he will come back stronger.
Muhammed Hasan “Kaori” Şentürk will be Danny’s replacement
The 21-year-old Turkish botlaner has been competing in professional League since 2018 and has been part of EG’s academy squad since December 2021. His years of experience will hopefully make up for Danny’s talent at the botlane.
His favorite champs include Lee Sin, Ezreal, Lucian and Kai’Sa
EG will be facing the likes of Fnatic, LOUD, DetonatioN, Beyond Gaming and Chief’s Esports in group A of World’s 2022 Play-in on September 29th. We’ll have to wait and see if Kaori will be a good fit for the NA squad.
Meanwhile, VCS teams struggle to even make the event due to visa problems.
