Karmine Corp likely to acquire Hans Sama and Astralis’ LEC slot for 2023 season

LEC Wooloo reported that the famed French botlaner has terminated contract with Team Liquid and is negotiating with Karmine Corp. A few days prior, another esports reporter Francesco Lombardo wrote that the French org has also acquired Astralis’ European LEC slot, with a deal similar to Rogue/KOI where the current Astralis roster will be absorbed into the new KC lineup.

Awesome news for Karmine Corp and French League fans

Karmine Corp is massively popular with its French fan base in the LFL, so when Misfits Gaming’s European LEC slot ended up going to Team Heretics, there was inevitably huge disappointment.

Now they have huge cause for celebration, KC is finally getting into the bigger continental league. On top of that they will get to welcome the return of their country’s prodigal son Steven ‘Hans Sama’ Liv. After a disappointing season in the NA LCS with an underperforming super team Liquid, Hans Sama is looking to return to his LEC roots, and French roots this time as well.

The arrival of Hans though would mean KC fans will have to say farewell to their botlaner Carl Martin ‘Rekkles’ Erik Larsson. Rekkles only joined KC slightly less than a year ago on an astonishing $1 million 2-year deal and helped them win a European Masters title. Rekkles, a legend of his own, will have no trouble exploring options in the LEC.

If followed through, Karmine Corp will be the 2nd new face in the LEC after Team Heretics was confirmed to be joining next year.

The deals are not yet 100% confirmed, but the sources are reliable so you can expect more solid details in the coming days.
