Despite being a rising star in KT Rolster, Jungkook Kang “Blank” Sun-gu has just been pulled back to the reserve team in the 2nd phase of LCK Spring 2021.
Since coming back to the LCK at the start of this season. Blank has been giving out an impressive performance in the KT Rolster shirt. And especially, he contributed a lot in the victory over his old team T1 Esports.
Despite not having a strong team comp. KT still managed to finish at 6th place after the first round of the LCK Spring 2021 group stage. This team still has the opportunity and ability to compete for a play-off ticket.
However, right after the LCK organizing committee announced the all the team players attending the second round, many KT fans were shocked. The 2003 player, Kim “GIDEON” Min-seong suddenly became the official jungler while Blank and Bonnie were placed in the reserve team. Which we can see that Blank and Bonnie were not in the main team comp.
Obviously, the KT fan community in Korea finds it difficult to understand this decision. Therefore, a series of attacks have been sent to the team throughout social networking sites.
The KT board recently spoke about Blank’s problem when the player was pushed down to the reserve squad. Specifically, Blank is having some psychological problems and does not get his best performance if he participates in highly competitive professional matches, and he needs sometime to rest.
