LCK Spring 2022 Finals will be held live at KINTEX in April

On Saturday, April 2, the LCK Spring Finals will be held at the KINTEX. For the first time in almost three years, Korean League of Legends fans will be able to witness their native league’s finale in person.

KINTEX is a venue with a long history in the LCK. It was the site of the first finals, which pitted MiG Frost against MiG Blaze, with MiG Blaze taking the first championship in the tournament history. Since then, two additional finals have been held at KINTEX, in the springs of 2013 and 2014.

Secretary-General Jeong-hoo Lee made the announcement: “LCK has gone through numerous transformations over the past 10 years. We decided to host the finals at KINTEX this year, because as we look towards the next 10 years of the LCK, we wanted to pay tribute to the players, the fans, and the teams from those 10 years.”

The LCK Spring Finals invites fans back to the arena for the first time in two and a half years. It was last seen in the 2019 Summer Finals, between SKT T1 and Griffin.

The two teams who will compete in the grand finale have yet to be determined—the LCK 2022 Spring still has eight games on the schedule. Following those games, the competition will be divided into a six-team playoff bracket.

The third and sixth place teams will compete on March 23, while the fourth and fifth place teams will compete on the 24th. T1 and Gen.G have already secured their positions as the regular split’s no.1 and 2 team, therefore they will be seeded immediately in round 2. T1 will be allowed to pick one of the winning teams from round 1, with Gen.G facing off against the other team as the first-place team. The winners of Round 2 will advance to the finals.
