The results of this year Scouting Grounds will have a huge effect on the performance of the entire LCS in the future.
As Group Stage of Worlds 2020 coming to an end, the LCS has received countless criticisms from their fans as they were the only major region without any representative at the Quarterfinals. The main reason for their under-performance this year could be because of the fact that they didn’t have any valuable Rookie to compete with such “montrous” Rookie as Huanfeng, Chovy, Knight or Selfmade from other regions
After a year full of ups and downs of League of Legends, promising North American players will finally have the opportunity to shine at the LCS Scouting Grounds 2020 event (recruiting talents from SoloQ). This time, however, Riot Games stated that the tournament would be held as a completely virtual event.
The format of the tournament will maintain the same, but teams will instead, compete freely at home or elsewhere on the same server, the Tournament Realm. The matches will be monitored by the tournament representatives via webcams with the Riot referee controlling the communication between the players.
The negotiation process will take place immediately after the Final match of the Scouting Grounds, where teams will have the right to negotiate exclusively with any player of their choice. However, players do not need to sign any contract with the team they initially entered to compete in the tournament.
Teams can also negotiate and trades their players after the Tournament. However, the ranking order will be reversed according to the 2020 LCS Summer standings. This allows the worst performers to try to pick a number of “rising stars” to cater to their roster reconstruction.
A lot of names have risen from Scouting Grouds and played extremely outstandingly in the LCS. One example of this is Team Liquid’s ADC Tactical. He’s the one who works quite well with CoreJJ in TL and has performed very well in the recent Worlds 2020.
