Before the LPL 2020 Summer playoff quarter-finals match between LGD Gaming and Invictus Gaming began, an LGD employee shared a post on his personal Weibo account with offensive material threatening IG top laner, TheShy.
“I just met some of the IG members, I wanted to go over and smash TheShy’s arm broken.
Although I couldn’t bear to do so, perhaps there’s no other way.”
While the post was modified as “friends only,” it was quickly spotted out by IG fans, leading to a wave of outrage. And though he had clarified that it was merely a joke, his statement is obviously unacceptable to all LPL and IG fans.
Needless to mention the level of speech aggression, but even its content indicates a direct threat to the mental and health of the player. Thereafter and, LGD Gaming immediately made a public apology to TheShy, team IG and their fans.
The department confirmed that the aforementioned staff was also disciplined the harshest, who was subsequently terminated and had to write a formal apology message.

This man then apologized on his personal Weibo and clearly explained it was a joke, did not mean to offend TheShy.
