League Bug: Cloud Drake now gives players both old and new buffs

The League of Legends preseason is still affected by major problems, and this latest one causes the Cloud Drake to provide players both old and new buffs.

Back around October 20, players found out that Riot has unofficially modified the Cloud Drake with new buffs granting 3.5% Out Of Combat Mov Speed and 3.5% Slow Resistance (the previous was granting Ultimate Ability Haste). The Cloud Drake soul stays the same, with a bonus 10% movement speed and increased movement speed after using Ult.

Cloud drake bug gives both old and new buffs

Despite the fact that the benefit for ultimate ability haste was adjusted in the preseason patch, it was recently revealed that the Cloud dragon still provides it. The Cloud dragon now grants out-of-combat movement speed and slow resistance.

But what Riot presumably didn’t expect was that the drake now grants both the new buffs and the old buffs, granting both movement speed and ultimate ability haste. Because of this bug, players have reported receiving both bonuses, and hence a considerably bigger advantage, after killing the Cloud drake.

After defeating the Cloud drake, both the new and old buffs are applied, as demonstrated in the video. This implies that players are still getting decreased cooldown on their ult as if the patch was still from the previous season.

This is only one of several bugs in the current League of Legends preseason. Getting two benefits instead of one when taking the Cloud dragon will be a great help to the team that takes it, yet it still doesn’t appear like players are prioritizing the Cloud dragon despite the extra bonuses.

While the Cloud drakes are anticipated to be corrected shortly, it appears that players can still benefit from the extra bonuses on the live servers.
