Bot lane has always been the lane with most diverse champions, and this time is no exception
Nobody can disagree that bot lane is now dominant. While ADCs like Kai’Sa and Ashe are becoming increasingly picked, with Zeri finally eliminated, there is one champion who is becoming meta.
Some bot laners are prioritised above others throughout different stages of League of Legends. However, one meta has been hotly disputed in recent weeks, particularly in solo queue, and that champion is Karthus.
Players are worried about new bot lane champion: Karthus
The bot lane’s meta has evolved once again. While we saw a lot of Aphelios, Jinx, and Zeri not long ago, these champions have fallen off due to certain targeted nerfs, making room for new powerful ADCs like Kai’Sa and Ashe. These ADCs, of course, are not Karthus.
Players have turned to Reddit to express their dissatisfaction with Karthus and how powerful he is in the current meta. Karthus has been a solid pick in recent months, with a win rate of roughly 53%.
According to League statistics LoLalytics, Karthus is currently the number one bot lane champion, with a drastically high win rate at 54.72% win rate.
Tyler1 recognised this and utilised Karthus during his EUW climb to Challenger, which he eventually completed owing to the champion.
Karthus, because to his passive, can continue to deal damage and farm even after death, which means that even if he loses a fight in the bot lane, he won’t lose much in the early game because he can still farm and spam Q after death.
This implies he may go towards the late game, when he can poke adversaries out and get greater advantages. Players feel Karthus bot is a problem, but Riot isn’t going to do anything about it because to the low play rate of this OP pick.
