New information of Briar, the next champion, has just been teased
Players are excitedly anticipating what Riot has in store for us with Briar, their upcoming champion, after the recent release of Naafiri.
Riot first made Briar known in their Season 2023 LoL video. She would serve as a vampire champion for Noxus, it was revealed in the trailer, which also included a gothic castle-like Castlevania.
Riot also frequently used the words “frenzies,” “bloodlust,” and “uncontrollable hunger” to describe the champion. Therefore, Riot could be hinting at the possibility that she has diving mechanics similar to Vi or Jarvan.
There isn’t much information available about the champion for now. But recently, more information about her has come to light.
New League client teaser indicating Briar
SkinSpotlights, a League of Legends YouTuber, just shared some fresh details about the upcoming champion.
The Youtuber claims that new audio files with the moniker BR have been discovered in the League client. In this case, Briar’s codename is probably BR. The audio files make reference of the Neutral, Happy, Angry, and Sleep phases.
The audio recordings give off a dungeon-like atmosphere as we hear heavy doors opening and chains clanging. She seems to be more of a Gothic figure than the “Vampire Girl” cliché that many people had in mind.
As for Briar’s release date, we do not yet have a firm date yet. But given the timeframe that the champion will be released before the next Dev Blog Update, it appears that the champion will be available in Patch 13.18, which is set to go live on September 13.
