League of Legends may receive new game modes after a hiatus due to a new development team concentrating on the project, Riot said ahead of Season 13’s premiere. The same is true for maps, a popular community feature. For years, League of Legends fans have seen the same repeated featured modes, and Riot hasn’t changed things up in a long time.

Players have long requested new PvE game modes similar to the old Odyssey, but developers have refrained, claiming a lack of resources. That might all change in Season 13, with Riot introducing a slew of new League of Legends experiences.

Game mode Team updates

Riot Reav3 recently commented on Reddit about the current situation of the Team and how they are striving to get the game modes back.

According to Reav3, the team was shifted the PIE team last year when some Gamemode Team members departed Riot or transferred to other teams.

However, the game modes team has just returned to the gameplay initiative from the Player Immersion and Expression (PIE) team. Although the Gamemode team has returned, it will take time for the team to build up production, thus new game modes may be delayed.

Riot Reav3, on the other hand, informed us that a dev blog will be published shortly to keep gamers updated on their work.

It may be some time before the feature is implemented, but development in this area is sure to excite League of Legends players who have been waiting for new content for years.
