League of Legends new Mythic Variants detailed

There are several skin tiers in League of Legends, including Legacy, Epic, Legendary, Ultimate, Mythic, and Prestige Edition. On top of that, there are Chromas, Mythic Chromas, and Mythic Variants, the most recent addition to the game.

So, what is Mythic Variants? Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin, the first Mythic Variant skin introduced to League of Legends, was initially presented in August 2023 and is loot-exclusive items that can only be acquired by purchasing and paying out for these cosmetics.

Similar to Mythic chromas, which cycle in the Mythic shop, Mythic Variants are only accessible for a limited period of time and won’t be available again.

League of Legends Mythic Variants

According to Riot Games’ recent blog post, Mythic Variants are skin redesigned that are exclusive to loot boxes and are only available for a limited amount of time.

They won’t be brand-new skins and won’t be available for purchase in the shop. Instead, Riot will update and recreate older skins like Dark Cosmic Jhin. This entails new powers, colours, splash art, icons, and borders for the champion.

You can open a capsule to receive Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin, and you’re sure to get it after 30 capsules. Fortunately, you can obtain Mythic Variant without owning the original skin, and if you’re lucky enough, you might be able to do so by rerolling other skins. Here’s the list of how you can obtain it:

The availability of Mythic and Prestige skins has made them feel less unique. So, the developers added Mythic Variants to the game rather than “trying to take away from players who are currently happy with the more accessible Prestige system.”

Riot has continued to be open to the prospect of later include more of this Variants, but nothing is definite.
