A fan noted that Kanye West’s latest rival, Pete Davidson, has been prohibited from usage in certain Clash names
Kanye West has lately gained fame for launching a social media act against various celebrities, including comedian Pete Davidson, who is said to be dating Kanye West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. A League player noticed that the term ‘Pete Davidson’ has been banned from being used as a Clash team name, but why is Riot restricting Pete Davidson’s name to be used?
Why is ‘Pete Davidson’ not allowed to be used in Clash?
Reddit user u/Threeleggy posted his finding on the official League of Legends subreddit forum. The fan claims in the article that after repeatedly attempting to create a team under a version of the comedian’s name, the automatic language system barred its usage.
The initial effort to name the team “Pete Davidson Fan Club” with the tag SKT failed, leading them to assume that Riot was defending the old name of three-time world champion T1, formally as SKT.
However, after having to name the club in a variety of ways, only some made it through the filter. The filter does accept Pete, Davidson, Pete David, Pete Davids, Davidso, P Davidso, and Pet Davidson as choices, according to the author of the post. Anything containing a more direct form of Pete Davidson’s name was rejected. So how did this happen in League?
The emerging drama surrounding Kanye West and Pete Davidson is still happening fiercely, but the probability of Riot Games changing their language filter around Clash teams to protect a celebrity identity is extremely unlikely.
For the time being, there is no explanation for the bizarre encounter, but it has given many players and fans an entertaining post.
