League of Legends Ranked matchmaking is causing everyone to go insane!!

League of Legends players are expressing heightened frustration with the ongoing ranked season due to perplexing matchmaking practices and issues arising from placement matches.

As the 2024 ranked season kicks off, players eagerly engage in ranked queues, endeavoring to navigate their placement games with the goal of achieving higher ranks.

Placement games, a crucial aspect of the ranked experience, significantly influence a player’s starting point for the season. However, the early stages of the 2024 season have been marred by noteworthy challenges, sparking discontent among players.

A prominent concern revolves around the influx of purchased accounts and new players entering ranked games, disrupting the competitive integrity of the experience.

Players are genuinely upset with LoL 2024 rank

As can be seen from the Reddit post, Players are increasingly irked by the prevalence of accounts available for purchase at affordable prices, utilized by players who may lack a genuine investment in the game.

This has resulted in instances where players, disinterested in the outcome, simply abandon their teammates if the match doesn’t unfold in their favor. Furthermore, complaints abound regarding the matchmaking algorithm, which appears to be placing players in games with players possessing ranks significantly higher than their actual skill levels.

“I played ranked flex with a genuine new player who started dagger on Jinx and dies 10x every game. She was placed plat 3 like wtf??”

“I don’t understand the rank system because I was placed Gold 1 even though I just reached level 30 as a new player. I’d be more than happy to have been placed in Iron”

The frustration extends to encounters with level 30 accounts infiltrating ranked games, contributing to an environment that feels unbalanced and unsatisfactory for those seeking fair and competitive matches.

“I dont know why Riot wants new accounts to start in Gold/Plat mmr. When I started ranked in Season 4, the game put me at Bronze 4.”

While teething issues are not uncommon at the onset of a new ranked season, the challenges experienced in the early stages of the 2024 season are garnering attention as potentially marking it as one of the worst in the history of League of Legends.
