League of Legends: LoL will be the foundation for Riot to develop Legends of Runeterra ?

League of Legends is still a project that brings a lot of reputation to Riot Games and they can be proud of the game’s outstanding success.

But is that enough for Riot Games’ ambition?

The answer is definitely no

In the near future Riot will launch a new MMORPG game called Legends Of Runeterra to attack the growing RPG market.

And some evidence for this, is that during the 2014-2016 period Riot pushed for recruiting new employees with experience in role-playing games.

The most typical of these is Gerg Street, which has been a long time operating and designing the system for Blizzard and he has a deep knowledge about World Of Warcraft and in 2014 that Riot started pushing up the update Legend and expansion of League of Legends world.

July 2018 Marc “Tryndamere” Merryl, co-founder of Riot Games suddenly revealed information about the project on Twitter when asking “What do people think about RPGs”. That same year, November 2018: Riot Games registered the brand for its new product, Legends Of Runeterra.

Initially many players thought that this was just a League of Legends Mobile version of the mobile operating system that Riot teamed up with Tencent to launch.

Therefore Riot’s upcoming product will be the Legends Of Runeterra role-playing game. This will be Riot’s secret weapon to defeat the roleplaying games that are still raging like World of Warcraft, Monster Hunter World …

On the player side this is also a super product when you can accompany the favorite generals in League of Legends in a different way. It is expected that Riot will publish the information about Legends Of Runeterra this year.
