In the wave of criticism that Riot is increasingly creating more complex champions, the League of legends gaming community has counted all the length of the description of the champion’s skill sets and noticed many surprises.
Statistics of the length of the skills describing lines of all champions in League of Legends, champion’ passive and skills, gamers find that among the top are mostly old champions, not champions with complex mechanics as it has been lately.
5. Senna (1224 words)
Released at the end of 2019, Senna is the most special champion in League of Legends ever when introduced by Riot as a support ADC. Therefore, Senna’s skill mechanism is also completely different from normal ADC champions.
This champion’s passive is what makes Senna standing out with a series of different interactions, and is confirmed by Riot August as the champion with the longest passive description in League of Legends. Senna has a mechanism to pick up Souls from minions and gain Souls when dealing damage to enemy champions. At the same time, collecting Souls also gives this champion a lot of stats, thus making the explanation very long.
The rest of Senna’s skills are not too complicated, but there are also interactions that Riot has to explain carefully, which contributes to this champion’s skill set being described quite long.
4. Shyvana (1282 words)
As one of the early champions in League of Legends, Shyvana‘s skill set has been modified/reworked many times throughout the history. However, the key point of Shyvana is still the different skills in the two forms of human and dragon.
In each skill, Riot has to describe Shyvana’s different abilities in both forms, which makes the champion’s skill set quite long. Along with that, the passive in both the Q move as well as the ultimate also costs a lot more to talk about.
Besides, Shyvana is also an extremely versatile champion in AD and AP stats interaction. Therefore, this is one of the few champions with the most item building options in League of Legends.
3. Jhin (1283 words)
Also a new generation of ADC, Jhin has a unique reloading mechanism with only 4 bullets in his gun. Therefore, the interactions to this champion’s stats are not the same as usual. That led Riot to give a long explanation of Jhin’s Passive, from AD stats, attack speed and critical damage.
Jhin’s passive can be seen quite similar to Senna’s passice when taking up most of the attention in the skill set. Besides, Jhin’s E is also described by Riot quite specific, although it is not that complicated. From the side-passive of this skill to the storage mechanism, from the interactions of the Captive Audience when using it to the affection on the opponents, it takes up quite a lot of words to described.
2. Kha’Zix (1371 words)
Released in 2012, Kha’Zix is also one of the early champions with a unique skill set with very little changes. One of the things that makes Kha’Zix’s skill description quite long is because of the champion’s evolution mechanism.
When reaching a certain level, Kha’Zix can choose to evolve 1 of 4 skills. Therefore, in each skill of this champion, Riot has to describe the effects, stats in normal form as well as in evolutionary form, leading to many differences and more words to make it clear.
In patch 9.16, to eliminate a bug in this champion’s stealth ability, Riot adjusted the skill description a bit and even made it longer than the original, thereby bringing Kha’Zix to become the second longest skill set champion in League of Legends.
1. Lee Sin (1420 words)
Lee Sin is considered one of the most successfully designed champions in the history of League of Legends. Since appearing in the game in 2011, this champion’s skill set has always been trendy and has never been modified too much. From solo queue to professional tournaments, Lee Sin has always been a popular champion in every meta.
However, the fact that Lee Sin’s skill set description is the longest in League of Legends is something not many people can think of. In addition to the fairly simple passive and ultimate, Lee Sin’s remaining 3 skills are all divided into two separate parts, so he can be counted as a champion with up to 8 skills.
However, the complexity in Riot’s description of Lee Sin’s skills comes from the details and hidden mechanics of each skill. Therefore, Lee Sin is considered a champion that requires players to have a certain understanding of the skill and also to have a lot of practice matches to be able to master him.
