As the League of Legends‘ champion pool is expanding, there are quite a few interesting and unique skills that really stand out and can’t be mistaken by any other one.
In the past few years, Riot and their champion design team have worked extremely hard to keep bringing fresh air into League of Legends. From VGUs to brand new releases, players have the chance to experience more and more unique abilities that really make players feel special and attract their interests. Let’s check out a few of them!
Singed – Poison Trail
Singed was released back then in 2009, and he was one of the first champions in League of Legends. Basically, all of his abilities and playstyles revolve around how well players maneuver and execute his Q – Poison Trail. Even Season after Season, Singed is still able to remain his core mechanic and characteristics.
When thinking of damage over time champions, Singed is definitely a great choice. The unique point of his Q – Poison Trail is not only that almost all Singed’s skills and item sets fully support it, but also he doesn’t have to attack to deal damage. The only thing he needs is to out-smart his enemies in terms of movement.
Tahm Kench – Devour
Tahm Kench is also a fairly old champion. Released in 2015, he is an ancient devil. Even though there hasn’t been really a time where Tahm Kench really shines, he is always a reliable choice when players want to provide decent protection for allies, and he is also a tanky champion himself.
However, his W – Devour is really unique. He can literally consume anything. Not only can he protect his allies’ champions by consuming them, keep them safe for a short period of time, but he can also devour his enemies, capture them, and also put them in a disadvantaged spot. When facing champions that require precise combo in a short period of time, Tahm Kench has proven to be an extremely excellent way to deal with them.
Volibear – Stormbringer
Volibear is also a champion that has appeared really long ago since the League of Legends’ existence. However, with the successful VGUs that Riot released in 2020, Volibear has become one of the most picks champions in the competitive scenes. Still able to remain somewhat how old Volibear worked, Riot excellently made Volibear really fun to play.
Since Ohmwrecker was removed from the game, Volibear’s Ultimate – Stormbringer is the only skill in League of Legends that can totally silence turrets for a short period of time. This skill makes turret diving can’t be easier than ever. There is really no particular way to counter The Relentless Storm when he and his jungler want to kill you. However, this skill brings fascinating mechanics, and it is promising that shortly Riot will create champions that possess this style.
Yuumi – You and Me!
Support is always considered a pretty ‘boring’ role in League of Legends. Yuumi is one of the exceptions. Even though this cat’s appearance is nowhere near threatening or muscular, however, she is insanely annoying with her multi-purpose abilities.
There is only one weakness to her W – You and Me! is that she totally depends on her teammates, and this disadvantage is not considered weak if she is attached to a trustworthy teammate. Despite being caster support, she eliminates this class’s weaknesses – fragile and lack of mobility. As long as her teammates are doing well and dealing damage, Yuumi can still provide a hefty amount of healing and decent crowd-control in team fights. We have seen Yuumi been through several buffs and nerfs in League of Legends to detain her power appropriately. She remains to have one of the highest pick-rates while other caster supports are being dethroned.
