League of Legends Worlds 2025 Will Be Held In China

As the 2024 League of Legends World Championship draws to a close, Riot has announced that Worlds 2025 will be hosted in China.

The League of Legends World Championship is the most highly anticipated event in the competitive scene, where the top teams from across the globe battle for the title of the best in the world.

This year, Worlds 2024 is taking place in Europe, with games hosted in Berlin, Paris, and London. The Play-Ins and Swiss Stage took place in Berlin, the Quarterfinals and Semifinals in Paris, and the Finals will be held in London.

At the time of writing, the Quarterfinals have wrapped up, and the Semifinals feature intense matchups: Weibo Gaming vs. Bilibili Gaming and T1 vs. Gen.G. Each clash promises high-stakes gameplay, making these Semifinals must-watch matchups.

With Worlds 2024 nearing its grand finale, information about the next championship has already started to emerge, and it’s confirmed—Worlds 2025 will return to China.

Worlds 2025 Will Take Place in China

This will mark the third time that China has hosted the event, with previous championships held there in 2020 and 2017.

China remains one of the top-performing regions in the League of Legends scene, second only to Korea. Looking back at Worlds 2023, the Semifinals saw only one LCK team, T1, with the remaining teams representing China’s LPL. Despite facing strong LPL opposition, T1 emerged victorious, claiming the 2023 title.

With powerhouse LPL teams like Weibo Gaming showing strong potential in the current championship, China promises fierce competition. But for now, all eyes are on the remaining games of the tournament as we await a new champion.
