Today, Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, League gameplay design director, outlined some tentative changes landing into patch 11.10.
It can be seen that twelve champions, which are set to receive nerfs and buffs in patch 11.10, are a comparatively small number given that 19 champions were adjusted in patch 11.9. When it comes to solo laners such as Galio and Darius, several changes in terms of nerfing to coming in patch 11.10. Darius’s E cooldown now has been increased up to six seconds resulting in his engagement ability being slightly hindered. Assassins such as Talon and Katarina will also have their attack damage and movement speed reduced in the upcoming update.
The support role, however, is probably considered to be the most altered position in patch 11.10. Hot pick champions like Thresh and Bard are going to get the nerfed hammer, while damage-dealing supports such as Lux and Zyra will see significant buffs aim to their abilities.
The nerfs to Thresh, on the other hand, should come as no surprise. Throughout the 2021 season, the champion’s power has slowly declined following many nerfed patches. And patch 11.10, though, will be the fourth update to include Thresh nerfs. More specifically, the champion’s base health will be reduced from 561 to 530 this time around, a nerf that could greatly decrease Thresh’s early-game skirmish potential.
As far as Support buffs are concerned, Lux will see an increase in her Lucent Singularity (E)’s damage in the later phases of the game. Both the ability’s base damage and ability power ratio have been buffed, allowing her to become much more of a burst-focused mage than she already is.
Kennen and Kayle are two other champions who have received major buffs in patch 11.10, adding more ranged champions into the top lane meta.
According to the official League patch schedule, patch 11.10 is set to hit live servers on May 12th.
