League Patch 11.17 will focus on solo queue with buffs for Teemo, Evelynn while nerfing Viego, Zed

The spotlight of League Patch 11.17 isn’t about pro play anymore.

Since the start of the playoffs for most major tournaments across the world, the League of Legends community has constantly been buzzing with new updates and balance patches.

However, League Patch 11.17 is being released during a period when no pro play is taking place, Riot Games will be making certain changes to the solo queue side of the game. Many of the changes coming to the game in the upcoming League Patch 11.17 will be focusing around the champion roster, with 17 specific champions being buffed, nerfed, and tweaked. Notably, champions including Ekko, Teemo, Akshan, Amumu, Lucian, Gangplank, and many more will be significantly modified when the patch goes live next week.

Some of the major changes in the patch, though, are coming to Viego, who is set to get lots of nerfs. To balance things out, Viego’s auto attack range will be lowered from 225 to 200, but the critical strike scaling on Blade of the Ruined King (Q) will be raised. However, Viego’s ultimate, Heartbreaker, will be significantly nerfed in Patch 11.17. The baseline slow duration of the ability will be decreased from 0.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds. Furthermore, the healing rates associated with Viego’s passive, Sovereign Domination, are slated to be decreased in the forthcoming patch.

Aside from Viego, Senna, his in-game arch-nemesis, is also getting a makeover. The Sentinel of Light’s attack speed and critical strike rates will be increased. The most significant buff she’s about to receive will be her passive, Absolution. In League Patch 11.17, the percentage at which ghouls drop from minion kills when Senna is nearby is raised from 4.1 percent to 8.3 percent.

Aside from those two massive sets of adjustments to two of the game’s most popular champions, other notable picks are also up for modification. Graves, Irelia, Kayn, Leona, and Zed are among the champions scheduled to be nerfed, with the latter receiving nerfs to the attack damage ratios connected to Razor Shuriken (Q) and Shadow Slash (E), as well as an increase in the cooldown of Death Mark (R).

Riot plans to buff Ekko, Evelynn, Lissandra, Nami, Xayah, and Teemo, among other champions. Evelynn players may anticipate a decrease in the cooldown of Agony’s Embrace (R) in the early stages of the game, while Teemo players can expect an increase in damage dealt by Toxic Shot (E) at all stages of the game.

Riot has stated that Patch 11.17 would focus more on adjustments centered on solo queue, due to the break between the end of regional playoffs and the start of the 2021 World Championship.

According to the game’s official patch schedule, League Patch 11.17 will be available on August 25.
