League’s new Darkin Assassin – Leaked details, concepts, kits, and more

The excitement for the new Darkin assassin is already building, as more information has been leaked

Riot has announced three new Darkin characters for Legends of Runeterra. And in the August 2022 League of Legends champion roadmap, the fourth Darkin champions are set to invade the land of Runeterra, and we’re excited for some dark champion action.

This champion is unlikely to be human. Riot has stated that they are developing a monster champion that would really resemble a creature. Back in August 2022, famous leaker BigBadBear had discovered that Riot themselves actually hinted at the assassin as a dog-like champion, or more specifically, a hellhound.

“One of the things the League community hounds me about”

“Darkin fans are like, throw me a frickin bone here!”

“barkin for some Darkin”

“And as to who… or what got ahold of these daggers”

With the newest source of information from BigBadBear himself recently, Riot appears to have chosen a Monster Hunter-inspired canine shape for this monster champion, despite prior speculation that she may be a chimera.

He also stated that the dagger will be melded in some way with the champion’s appearance. It’s unclear how, but it might be comparable to Pochita from Chainsaw Man, or even have the dagger’s eye replace the dog’s.

The Darkin champion will be a mid-lane AD assassin. However, it appears that, like Varus, she will have some AP scaling in her kit. She might possibly have an execute on lost HP in her kit, as well as a sort of resistance comparable to Nilah’s. Because these are simply leaks, everything shouldn’t be taken seriously, as all info is subject to change until the champion is released.

Also, Death’s Dance, like Viego and Blade of the Ruined King, closely resembles the concept art of the new champion. So, perhaps this is another indication of what this prospective champion will be capable of.

Unfortunately, the Darkin champion’s release date has been postponed. After the champion roadmap, Reav3 went to Reddit to clarify that a few things had changed after recording the roadmap. So, if you’re excited about the new Darkin assassin, you’ll have to wait a little longer because Riot appears to be taking their time with them.
