Heartsteel, a new item coming to League of Legends in Season 13, is causing players to be banned from the PBE
As 2022 winds down, League of Legends players embraces Season 13, with the 2023 preseason expected to begin in November. Riot Games normally aims to make big improvements to both the graphics and gameplay during these preseason adjustments.
Players are racing to the PBE to check out new things after many new items were added to the game.
Unfortunately, players who buy or simply engage with other players who have owned the new item Heartsteel in-game are reported by Riot’s anti-cheat system and permanently banned.
Heartsteel bans League of Legends players
After a Cho’Gath was able to get 3.7 quintillion health during a PBE game, the new mythic item piqued the interest of many players early on in the PBE. Under its new title “Heartsteel,” it is now banning players for no reason.
According to a Reddit discussion on the official PBE subreddit, numerous players testing the preseason patch have been banned from the game for no apparent reason.
However, once RossBoomsocks was banned from the PBE as well, numerous people who were permabanned came to check out what was going on. Following some examination, the parties involved concluded that Heartsteel is at the root of the issue.
All of the banned players either bought the item themselves or played with/against someone who also bought the new item. Riot has yet to clarify whether or not this is the actual issue, but the similarity is difficult to deny.
Ross went into further depth in a video posted to his YouTube channel regarding his experience being banned, as well as the experiences of people he was playing with who were banned for testing with the item.
It is unknown if those players will get unbanned. However, the new Mythic item has been the most talked about item in League Season 13.
