In the opening five minutes of an LEC game between BDS and G2, everything went horribly wrong for BDS’ top laner Adam. Adam (Irelia) was loitering in the river bush near the top lane as the game began, as the teams stretched out to locate possible jungle invaders. This is a normal approach for pro players so as to gather information. BrokenBlade (Jayce), the G2 top laner, decided to keep an eye out for invaders from within their top side river alongside Jankos (Poppy).

When Adam sees Jayce approaching, he appears to believe he is the only champion at that time. Adam’s entire laning phase is ruined as a result of this little lack of judgment. As Adam comes to a halt, Jankos appears, and Jayce suddenly perched on top of Irelia.

Both exchange flashes, but Adam dies near his turret nevertheless. BrokenBlade and Jankos then invade BDS’ jungle in search for the red buff. Adam then teleports back to his turret in order to return to his lane in time for the minion wave. But rather of coming into the lane early for CS, Adam decides to route down to battle Jayce that is heading back to the wave.

This is the hammer that seals the deal. Adam pushes too hard the fight ends with Jayce take the price again. Jayce has 700 gold ahead at this time of the LEC match, with Summoner spells, wave, and creep advantages.

Not only did Adam die twice before the first minion wave, but he also dramatically destroyed any chance he had of taking control of the top lane. Despite Adam’s team best efforts, G2 destroyed Team BDS.
