Lucian
With strong damage most of the time in a match, lane pressure ability, and agile mobility, Lucian is a good pick as top lane champion in leagues. In the solo rank, this champion also has extremely good stats with 1.4% win rate increase compared to the previous patch.
The reason why Lucian become a hot pick is his damage and lane control ability has been greatly increased even with very small buffs. With the 100 range increased in patch 10.13 and 10 damage added in patch 10.16, the Q – Piercing Light has become a powerful tool to take down minions, harass enemy very effective. Lucian can completely control his lane, put pressure on his enemies and “snowball” the match extremely quickly.
Rengar
The Pridestalker hadn’t even been buffed for the past 2 years, instead mainly got his bug fixed and the last time Rengar got buffed was patch 8.17. Rengar is so strong because he‘s well suited to snowball meta in solo rank. Basically, Rengar is still an assassin, this champion will get stronger extremely quickly when he has some early kills which gives real nightmares to the enemy team.
Moreover, the recent trend that many players using Rengar in top lane has also made this champion significantly improve his win rate. We should never under estimate Rengar’s early game damage because If you are less advantage than him, it is easy to fall into losing the whole lane. Once he gains advantage, Rengar is a champion that can destroy a game very quickly.
Fiora
Another damage-dealer champion appeared on this list is Fiora who increased win rate by 1.9% in the last few patches. Right from season 9, Fiora was an extremely powerful champion when buffed with Q – Lunge and E – Bladework’s ability to damage turrets. Until this champion has her Q – Lunge cooldown reduced in patch 10.16, Fiora’s power in solo rank really increases.
Fiora has been a champion that depends a lot on the player’s skill. The buffs offered by Riot make Fiora a little easier to play and easier to get better for casual gamers . Akali
The beneficial changes in patch 10.7, 10.12 and most recently 10.16 have helped Akali extremely strong, especially the new damage form changed her E – Shuriken Flip from physics to magic. With Magic Resistance Penetration items such as (Morellonomicon,Sorcerer’s Shoes,Void Staff), this change makes Akali’s E much more painful.
This girl may not have great running speed in Twilight Shroud or cleaning up minions too fast as before, but Akali’s main job is to assassinate her enemy is still extremely excellent. In solo rank where damage-dealer champions dominate, Akali is even more benefit. That’s why Akali has increased her win rate by 2.5%, the highest of all LOL champions at the moment.
