Riot has revealed that League of Legends’ iconic 5v5 Nexus Blitz game mode will return for a short period in 2023
League of Legends has recently announced some significant announcements. The most recent dev update revealed modifications to the game’s ranked mode as well as the removal of the Mythic item system.
However, one of the most significant announcements made during was the reintroduction of the much-loved Nexus Blitz game mode. This limited-time mode hasn’t been seen in 3 years, despite Riot saying it will return in 2022. That didn’t happen, therefore Riot is making up for it in 2023.
LoL Nexus Blitz 2023
Riot Games announced on August 29 that Nexus Blitz would return as a rotating game mode in October. Following the formal announcement, the developers stated that this will serve as a “future staple rotating mode,” although it will not get any substantial changes for its rerelease.
Nexus Blitz will essentially return as players remember it, as a 5v5 game with random events in which players compete for powerups. The Nexus would eventually square battle against each other at the 18-minute mark, with the winners being the final Nexus standing.
If we exclude the jungle modifications and pets, Riot Cadamus claims that the spirit and general gameplay will remain the same.
Riot also stated that Nexus Blitz was “completely broken” owing to multiple League of Legends patches to emphasise the absence of adjustments. As a result, they want as little modifications as possible so that they can better analyse the mode and make tweaks as it progresses to improve it for future releases.
Brightmoon did stated that certain itemization modifications would be made to reflect for changes since its last reappearance three years ago. And the other new element we can expect this year is the Jungle Pets, which are already available for the Summoner’s Rift.
It is fair to believe that Nexus Blitz will be launched in League of Legends patch 13.20, which is slated for October 12.
