LoL Patch 13.1 will kick out the new year in style, with much to look forward to
Although the entire patch notes for patch 13.1 have yet to be posted, there are a few verified changes. These are the buffs and nerfs we can expect in the first patch of season 2023.
LoL Patch 13.1 will be the first patch of the year 2023, and it already has several intriguing changes planned. Mid-scope updates, item buffs and nerfs, and much more are currently being tested on the PBE server.
Jax Mid-scope updates
In the next League of Legends patch, Jax will receive a mid-scope update. This isn’t a massive mid-scope like Olaf’s. Instead, this is an update to make the champion seem a little more comfortable to play without making too many changes.
His ultimate will also receive new visual effects for his new active, as well as new FVS and SFX for the passive.

R – Grandmaster’s Might

- Bonus MR is 75% of Armors Value
- New Active: Jax swings his lantern around him, dealing 150-350 (+100% AP) magic damage to nearby enemies. If he hits a champion he gains 10-40 (+.1 Bonus AD) Armor and Magic Resist, plus 14-22 (+.1 Bonus AD) per champion hit for the next 8 seconds. During this time the passive damage applies every 2nd attack instead of every 3rd.
A new amusing passive was also added to his arsenal. Jax now has an in-game mini-game where you may go fishing in the river to gain one gold.
Items adjustments
The upcoming League of Legends patch will make a few modifications to several particular League of Legends systems. Several of the anticipated changes of LoL Patch 13.1 have already gone live with the 12.23b patch, but some more have made their way into the PBE server.

Riot is adjusting a few items in the forthcoming League of Legends patch 13.1. These are only minor modifications, and we anticipate seeing more in the coming days.
Jak’Sho, The Protean nerfs
Riot will most likely make significant changes to Jak’Sho as well. The item, designed for tanks, is one of the most popular items in the game, with a build rate of 70%. Most champions that use this item aren’t even tanks, so it’s understandable that Riot is seeking to make some significant modifications.
They will attempt to make it neutral on tanks while weakening it on non-tank champions such as Irelia, Aatrox, or even ADCs, who have crazy win rates with this item.
Skins
With LoL Patch 13.1, two new skin sets will be available on live servers. We’ll be getting new Mythmaker skins as well as Lunar Gods skins to commemorate the Lunar New Year.
Mythmaker Irelia
Mythmaker Garen
Lunar Empress Ashe
Lunar Guardian Malphite
The full Mythmaker and Lunar God skin line can be viewed here.
According to the patch schedule, the next League of Legends patch 13.1 will go live on January 10, 2023. This implies that the ranking season will begin around January 12 or 13.
